Desjardin
Social and Environmental Responsibility

Produce to the highest standards, act responsibly

For more than 178 years, Desjardin has been building a legacy of sustainability. Today, this industrial heritage is accompanied by a deep conviction: a successful company is a responsible company.

‍Our
CSR approach goes beyond certifications. It shapes all of our decisions, from the selection of our raw materials to our relationships with our employees, and from our environmental commitments to the ethics of our business practices.

Our 4 Areas of CSR Commitment

Environment

As manufacturers of infinitely recyclable packaging, we are actively reducing our carbon footprint, sorting 100% of our metal waste, and aiming to reduce our energy consumption by 10% by 2030.

Social Issues and Human Rights

Equal opportunity, zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or forced labor, an annual training plan, and a zero-accident goal: all our employees work in a safe and respectful environment.

Business Ethics

A formalized code of ethics, anti-corruption measures, financial transparency, and fair competition: Desjardin conducts its business with integrity toward all of its stakeholders.

Responsible Purchasing

We select suppliers based on their environmental and social practices; the majority of our partners are European, and we require that all Tier 1 suppliers sign our code of conduct.

An Integrated and Responsible Management System

Our CSR approach is not based on isolated initiatives. It is guided by an Integrated Responsible Management System (SMIR), which brings our four certifications together into a coherent framework:

This system involves all stakeholders: employees, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

QHSE Policy

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment: our operational foundation, aimed at zero accidents and product excellence.

Environmental Policy

Greenhouse gas reduction, waste management, product life cycle, and energy efficiency.

Social Policy and Human Rights

Working conditions, training, equal opportunity, and respect for fundamental rights throughout the entire supply chain.

Business Ethics Policy

Anti-corruption, data protection, fair competition, and business integrity.

Responsible Purchasing Policy

Selection of suppliers based on environmental and social criteria, with a formalized mutual commitment.

A Legacy to Pass On

Desjardin has been building French industrial expertise since 1848.

From the time Pierre Gachot acquired the company through to the present day and the arrival of Marie and Clément Gachot, our company has been guided by the conviction that the company’s long-term sustainability depends on its sense of responsibility: toward its teams, its partners, the environment, and future generations.

Our CSR approach is not a finished product. It is a commitment to continuous improvement, enriched each year.
